Phil Laing is an industrial designer based in Sydney. He graduated in Industrial Design from the University of Technology, Sydney and spent six months studying abroad at the Politecnico di Milano. Since then he's worked in Cuernavaca, Mexico for Airdesign, an automotive accessories manufacturer. This gave him invaluable experience of production, tooling and CNC machining, while providing the challenge of a Spanish-speaking environment.

Today Phil works for Fusedesign, a successful design consultancy in Sydney. His work there covers a wide gamut of industries, including lighting, kitchenware and office and IT furniture. He is heavily involved in all areas of development, from research and concepting, through to product development and production. His experience covers a range of production methods, such as injection moulding, sheet metal and metal fabrication, die casting, extruding and machining.
